Big Guy, Square Pants by PrismariTransfer

Format: Commander

Commander: Akul the Unrepentant

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Akul is a sacrifice-based cheat-into-play engine: the deck builds a critical mass of tokens, then sacrifices three of them to put expensive dragons, demons, and artifact creatures onto the battlefield for free. The primary plan is a midrange value curve that cheats Abhorrent Overlord, Rune-Scarred Demon, Terror of the Peaks, and extra-combat creatures into play; secondary plans use recursion via Vat of Rebirth, Junji, and Takenuma, plus treasure generation from Mahadi. Commander Akul both enables the free-cheat effect and provides an aggressive flying trampler. There is no hidden commander or background pairing; Tavern Brawler is merely a supporting enchantment in the ninety-nine.
