Vial Smasher/Malcolm by jfj323

Format: Commander

Commander: Vial Smasher the Fierce and Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Grixis partner-combo deck that uses Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator's treasure production and Vial Smasher the Fierce's burn to buy time while tutoring into compact wins. The primary plan is Demonic Consultation + Thassa's Oracle; the backup lines are the Curiosity + Glint-Horn Buccaneer + Malcolm ping loop and the Freed from the Real + Kelpie Guide + Hawkeye's Bow infinite-damage engine. Malcolm is the engine commander, creating mana from Pirate combat damage, while Vial Smasher provides incidental damage and a control clock. There is no hidden commander in the 99; Dargo and Breeches are strong Pirate payoffs rather than build-around commanders.
