Hydra Lords by Pangea_OG

Format: Commander

Commander: Zaxara, the Exemplary

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Zaxara, the Exemplary leads a Sultai X-spell/hydra deck that uses the commander as both a mana engine and a token factory. The primary plan is to ramp into Zaxara, then turn X-cost spells into massive hydra tokens. The fastest actual finish is an infinite-mana line: attach Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura to Zaxara or Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, then spend that mana on Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire. The fallback is hydra beatdown with counter doublers Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace, Doubling Season, and Unbound Flourishing, pushed through by Herald of Secret Streams. Selvala acts as a hidden secondary engine for the untap combo when Zaxara is taxed or removed.
