Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive-midrange poison strategy commanded by Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. Rather than dealing 120 combat damage to eliminate three opponents, the deck seeks to apply initial poison counters to each player early through cheap evasive infect/toxic creatures like Blighted Agent and Plague Stinger or non-combat spells like Prologue to Phyresis and Ichor Rats. Once opponents are poisoned, Atraxa's end-step trigger and an extensive suite of proliferate engines—including Evolution Sage, Inexorable Tide, Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician—escalate those counters to the lethal threshold of 10. Because poison counters cannot be removed once placed, the deck exerts inevitable, ticking pressure that bypasses traditional life totals and blockers. Supported by efficient 1-2 mana interaction, board wipes like Phyresis Outbreak and White Sun's Twilight, and defensive tools like Ripples of Potential, the deck steadily closes out games around Turn 7 while maintaining a resilient, redundant board presence.
