Deck overview

This Gruul combat deck leverages Bumi, Unleashed to animate lands into formidable attackers while capitalizing on earthbending mechanics and +1/+1 counter synergies. The early turns focus on deploying 1-3 CMC ramp to cast Bumi ahead of curve on Turn 4. Once Bumi enters, he immediately earthbends 4 onto a land, granting it haste. Attacking with Bumi on Turn 5 untaps all lands on combat damage and generates a bonus combat phase exclusively for animated land creatures. This pseudo-vigilance and burst mana allows the deck to cast post-combat threats or scale power rapidly using cards like Toph, Greatest Earthbender, Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender, and Beastmaster Ascension. Because earthbent lands return to the battlefield tapped upon dying or exile, the board maintains strong structural resilience against sweepers.
