Deck overview

This deck utilizes Olag and Miau, New Friends to unite Cat and Zombie typal synergies into a resilient +1/+1 counter and drain engine. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with ten 2-mana ramp pieces and establishing low-cost creatures of both types. Once the commander arrives on turn 4, entering Cats pump Zombies and entering Zombies pump Cats, turning small utility creatures into formidable threats. Concurrently, tapped attackers trigger the commander's end-step ability to drain each opponent directly, bypassing pillowfort effects. Mid-game turns scale the board through token producers like Arahbo, the First Fang, God-Eternal Oketra, and Brimaz, King of Oreskos, while power multipliers like Sovereign Okinec Ahau turn modest boards lethal by turn 6. A rich suite of premium Abzan removal keeps dangerous opponents in check, while broad recursion tools provide steady recovery against creature sweepers.
