Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir evasive tempo strategy piloted by Etrata, the Silencer. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, evasive threats featuring unblockable and shadow mechanics, which connect reliably to trigger combat-damage draw engines like Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor and Grazilaxx, Illithid Scholar. Etrata serves as an unblockable threat that removes opposing creatures while applying hit-counter elimination pressure. The list supports this plan with top-tier Dimir interaction, including free spells like Fierce Guardianship, Deadly Rollick, and Snuff Out, alongside disruptive flash creatures such as Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters. Because the deck eschews fast mana and nonland tutors, it avoids glass-cannon combo lines in favor of consistent card replenishment through Rhystic Study and The One Ring. It eventually closes out games around Turn 9 through accumulated combat damage, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse triggers, or alternate win conditions like Ramses, Assassin Lord.
