Deck overview

This Rakdos, Lord of Riots deck is a high-impact battlecruiser and group-slug strategy designed to cheat enormous Demons and Eldrazi into play ahead of curve. The deck relies on low-curve pingers and combat triggers on the early turns to fulfill the commander's casting restriction on Turn 4. Once Rakdos connects in combat on Turn 5, its massive generic mana reduction allows you to deploy devastating high-CMC threats like Sire of Insanity, Archfiend of Despair, and It That Betrays for minimal colored mana. Backed by oppressive enchantments such as Painful Quandary and Havoc Festival, the deck rapidly constricts opponents' resources while closing the game in two combat cycles with flying and trample beaters. While vulnerable to spot removal on its commander and lacking stack interaction, the deck presents overwhelming must-answer board states once its engine gets off the ground.
