Bracket: 1

Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul "Big Stuff" ramp-beatdown strategy helmed by the partner pair Alena, Kessig Trapper and Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood. The primary game plan is to quickly ramp into high mana value creatures (average MV 6.25) and use the commanders to generate explosive amounts of mana and card advantage. Gilanra provides green mana and draws cards when her mana is used on spells MV 6+, while Alena taps for red equal to the greatest power among creatures you control that entered this turn. The deck then overruns opponents with trampling fatties like Aggressive Mammoth, Liege of the Tangle, and Hellkite Charger (for extra combats). There are no infinite combos; the win condition is pure combat damage, often accelerated by Savage Ventmaw s attack triggered mana or Garruk's Uprising s card draw. The deck is extremely linear and heavily dependent on its commanders for speed and consistency.
