Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros Voltron build commanded by Lightning, Army of One. It focuses on equipping Lightning with high-impact weapons to exploit her Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to opponents she damages. Because Lightning naturally has first strike, granting her double strike or power boosts allows her first strike damage to trigger Stagger and double her subsequent regular combat strike, knocking out opponents in a single swing. A robust suite of Equipment tutors, cost reducers, and free-equip enablers like Puresteel Paladin, Forge Anew, and Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist ensures rapid, mana-efficient deployment. Protection pieces like Lightning Greaves, Champion's Helm, and Sunforger shield Lightning from removal. If the commander is disrupted, resilient backup attackers such as Cloud, Planet's Champion and an infinite combat loop between Aggravated Assault and The Reaver Cleaver provide strong closing power.
