Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck is commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, who grants end-step recursion to all dying nontoken creatures. The deck utilizes dense early ramp, rituals, and cost reducers to deploy sacrifice outlets and value engines by Turn 4. Big mana engines such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx fuel high-impact plays, enabling the cast of Avacyn or devastating asymmetric locks like Tergrid, God of Fright and Grave Pact by Turn 5 or 6. Avacyn breaks parity on sacrifice effects by returning creatures like Fleshbag Marauder, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Kokusho, the Evening Star every end step. This creates an overwhelming loop of repeated board wipes and massive table-wide life drain, culminating in a Turn 7 finish.
