Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and self-mill strategy built around The Emperor of Palamecia. The early game focuses on deploying the commander on Turn 2 and using its noncreature mana acceleration to cast impactful 4-mana spells. Each 4-mana noncreature spell adds a +1/+1 counter, transforming the commander into The Lord Master of Hell once three counters accumulate. The deck aggressively mills itself with explosive spells like Traumatize, Cut Your Losses, and Ancestral Memories, loading the graveyard with instant and sorcery cards. When transformed, the commander triggers Starfall on attack, dealing damage equal to the number of noncreature, nonland cards in the graveyard to all opponents simultaneously. The deck protects its commander using shroud and hexproof equipment like Lightning Greaves and Clout of the Dominus, and it closes games rapidly with extra combat spells like Relentless Assault or graveyard-wide payoffs like Rise from the Tides.
