Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal strategy commanded by Varina, Lich Queen. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap Zombies and mana rocks in the opening turns, casting Varina on Turn 4, and utilizing her combat trigger to aggressively loot through the library while padding life totals and loading the graveyard. In the mid-game, the deck capitalizes on high-impact lords and token multipliers such as Undead Warchief, Death Baron, Gisa, the Hellraiser, and Geralf, Visionary Stitcher to transform a wide board into an evasive, lethal combat force. Graveyard recursion cards like Zombie Apocalypse and Rise of the Dark Realms provide resilience against board wipes and late-game closing power. The deck features reliable 1-2 CMC ramp, efficient single-target removal, and robust team protection spells like Dawn's Truce. However, it relies heavily on combat damage over multiple turns and is vulnerable to mass exile effects and dedicated graveyard hate.
