Deck overview

Alela, Artful Provocateur helms an Esper aggro-control deck that converts cheap artifact and enchantment casts into an evasive army of flying Faeries. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using efficient 2-mana mana rocks, landing Alela by Turn 3 or 4. Once Alela is established, every subsequent noncreature permanent spell advances two axes at once: building board presence and establishing utility. Card advantage engines such as Caretaker's Talent, Bident of Thassa, and Skullclamp ensure a steady stream of resources, while passive deterrents like Ghostly Prison and Blind Obedience blunt incoming aggression. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by dropping massive combat multipliers like Starlight Spectacular, Hallowed Haunting, or Akroma's Will. A dense interaction suite of uncounterable removal, flexible counterspells, and protective phasing spells shields the board against sweepers, allowing the flying swarm to close the game across successive combat steps.
