Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir reanimator and surveil midrange deck commanded by Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. The strategy centers on using dense surveil triggers to filter the library, fill the graveyard with high-impact creatures, and grow Mirko's power with +1/+1 counters. At each of your end steps, Mirko reanimates a creature from your graveyard with power less than his own, creating a compounding board state without paying additional mana. The deck leverages utility creatures like Baleful Strix and Dogged Detective early to establish card flow, before transitioning into game-ending threats such as Grave Titan, Massacre Wurm, Doom Whisperer, and Sphinx of the Second Sun. Supporting reanimation spells like Reanimate and Necromancy provide backup access to your graveyard. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, steady card flow, and resilient reanimation engines, it relies on combat damage across multiple turn cycles to close out games and remains vulnerable to dedicated graveyard exile and mass sweepers.
