Deck overview

This Dimir spellslinger control deck utilizes Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy paired with Scion of Halaster to turn the graveyard into an expansive second hand. In the early game, the deck deploys cheap cantrips, cost reducers, and Scion's selective card-filtering trigger to sculpt the hand and stock the graveyard with high-utility instants and sorceries. By Turn 4, Gale begins flashing back spells, effectively doubling the value of every removal spell and cantrip cast. Mid-game turns focus on policing the table with efficient countermagic and spot removal while building toward major discount engines like Primal Amulet and Case of the Ransacked Lab. On Turn 7, the deck seizes control with an overloaded Cyclonic Rift or Mnemonic Deluge, clearing all opposing boards before closing the game on Turn 9 through massive Haughty Djinn combat damage and a game-ending Exsanguinate.
