Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy 5-color Spellslinger Combo list built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and the Prepare mechanic. By utilizing creatures that enter the battlefield prepared, the deck completely bypasses the need for high-cost activated abilities to start copying spells. Once Codie is deployed on Turn 3, casting low-cost prepared spells yields doubled card advantage through Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall or massive mana bursts via Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song. Secondary engines such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality generate overwhelming card and mana velocity whenever spells are cast or copied. The deck closes games decisively on Turn 5 by tutoring for and casting a doubled Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate powered by Yavimaya Bloomsage // Channel or Treasure generation. While highly proactive and capable of same-turn table kills, the strategy relies heavily on creature-based engines and requires careful timing to protect Codie from targeted removal.
