Deck overview

Shelob, Dread Weaver commands a mono-black control and attrition deck centered on -1/-1 counters, creature theft, and graveyard suppression. The deck aims to systematically dismantle opposing creature boards through wither mechanics, targeted debuffs, and asymmetric sweepers such as The Meathook Massacre and Massacre Wurm. Shelob acts as both a continuous graveyard hate piece—exiling opposing nontoken creatures upon death—and a versatile engine for card advantage and threat reanimation. Core synergy pieces like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Nest of Scarabs, and Blowfly Infestation generate exponential token swarms and repeatable card draw, while enabling infinite death-trigger loops to clear opposing boards. With high-density mana scaling from Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast, the deck transitions from early attrition into overwhelming mid-to-late-game board dominance, closing matches through lethal combat swarms, stolen opposing bombs, or direct life drain.
