Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai spellslinger strategy that uses legendary Wizard tribal synergies to power its commander, Gandalf, Party Guest. Early turns establish mana rocks and cheap legendary Wizards such as Baral, Chief of Compliance, Kaza, Roil Chaser, and Vivi Ornitier. Once Gandalf enters the battlefield, his beginning-of-combat ability cheats expensive instant and sorcery spells from hand at zero mana cost based on the number of legendary Wizards controlled. By turn 5, Gandalf cheats game-ending spells like Aminatou's Augury, Call Forth the Tempest, and Surge to Victory, burying opponents in card advantage and cascading board presence. The deck protects its combo turns using Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun to grant split second to key spells alongside efficient countermagic. It closes the game by turn 6 through massive creature buffs from Surge to Victory, flying Shark armies from Shark Typhoon, or asymmetric bounce from Raise the Palisade.
