Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is helmed by Vivi Ornitier, a commander that grows with each noncreature spell and taps for mana equal to its power. The primary game plan is to deploy cost reducers and mana engines, then chain a critical mass of cheap instants and sorceries to generate a high storm count or drain opponents with pinger creatures. The deck wins through Grapeshot for lethal storm damage, Aetherflux Reservoir for a life-payoff kill, or by accumulating damage from Guttersnipe, Thermo-Alchemist, and Vivi's own ping. Thousand-Year Storm and Birgi, God of Storytelling amplify the storm turn, while tutors like Personal Tutor and Spellseeker ensure the win condition is found. The deck is a classic Izzet storm build that aims to go off in a single explosive turn.
