Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Voltron strategy centered around Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin. The game plan focuses on casting the commander early, searching for impactful Equipment, and attaching gear using cost-reduction and cheat enablers. Winter Soldier, Icy Assassin scales rapidly in power with each attached Equipment while possessing built-in menace, vigilance, and self-reanimation from the graveyard. High-impact Equipment like Hulkbuster Armor, Thran Power Suit, and Genji Glove turn the commander into an immediate lethal threat against individual opponents. The deck supports this aggressive combat route with a dense suite of Equipment tutors, including Steelshaper's Gift, Open the Armory, and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, ensuring consistent access to key tools. A robust instant-speed removal package handles opposing threats, while versatile defensive cards such as Restoration Magic, Bastion Protector, and Invisible Force Field protect the commander against board wipes and targeted interaction, steadily closing out the game through lethal commander damage.
