Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure Aristocrats strategy helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan revolves around generating large quantities of Treasure tokens through low-cost ramp, combat triggers, and commander entry, then converting those tokens into mana acceleration, card draw, and table-wide burn damage. Smaug, Wicked Worm turns every spell cast with Treasure mana into a cantrip, ensuring continuous hand replenishment. Primary win routes rely on stacking drain triggers from permanents like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Reckless Fireweaver whenever Treasures are created or sacrificed. Complementing this burn engine are heavy flying threats like Ancient Copper Dragon, Goldspan Dragon, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon, as well as alternate win conditions like Revel in Riches. The deck features efficient single-target redirection and flexible removal, but remains susceptible to mass artifact sweepers and stax pieces that shut down artifact activated abilities.
