Commander: Eshki, Temur's Roar

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Eshki, Temur's Roar is the payoff for a RUG stompy deck that wants to chain large creatures. Cast Eshki early, then every power-4 creature draws a card and every power-6 creature turns Eshki into a pinger. Ramp dorks and artifacts accelerate into cost-reducers such as Animar, Goreclaw, and Nylea, while Maelstrom Wanderer, Etali, and Monstrous Vortex create extra spell chains. Finishing usually comes from an alpha strike with trample/haste granted by Maelstrom Wanderer or Frostcliff Siege, or a game-ending Finale of Devastation. The hidden commander is Maelstrom Wanderer: most cascade high-end plays aim to copy his effect or at least find another free spell behind him.
