Elves by Gmel1990

Format: Commander

Commander: Lathril, Blade of the Elves

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a classic Golgari Elfball deck helmed by Lathril, Blade of the Elves, built to explode from a handful of mana dorks into a critical mass of Elf tokens, then close the game through either an overwhelming combat swing or a table-wide drain. The primary plan is to ramp aggressively with a dense dork package (Elvish Mystic, Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, Circle of Dreams Druid), flood the board with tokens via Lathril and token doublers (Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Second Harvest), and finish with Craterhoof Behemoth or Ezuri, Renegade Leader overruns. The deck also carries a compact two-card infinite combo - Chain of Smog + Witherbloom Apprentice - that drains the table, plus a Staff of Domination infinite-mana line into Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire. Lathril serves as a repeatable token engine and a drain outlet, but the 99 is redundant enough to execute the elfball plan without her.
