Deck overview

This mono-green stompy deck uses Gargos, Vicious Watcher to accelerate and empower a lethal roster of Hydras. Early turns focus on traditional land ramp like Cultivate and Skyshroud Claim to cast Gargos by Turn 5. Once on board, Gargos provides a massive four-mana cost reduction for all Hydra spells and acts as a fighting deterrent against opposing targeted interaction. The deck transitions into an overwhelming combat threat on Turn 6 by deploying large Hydras like Kalonian Hydra, Primordial Hydra, and Voracious Hydra, augmented by +1/+1 counter doublers such as Branching Evolution and Unbound Flourishing. Lacking tutors and fast mana, the deck trades speed for resilience and raw battlefield size. It relies on Heroic Intervention and Inspiring Call to survive sweepers while closing the game via trample damage across two response cycles.
