Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Aristocrats and Combo build piloted by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The primary strategy leverages Marchesa's dethrone ability and +1/+1 counter synergy to create a resilient, recurring creature engine. By combining sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Phyrexian Altar with death payoffs like Blood Artist and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, the deck generates continuous card flow and board presence. It controls opposing creature boards through asymmetric attrition pieces like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. The deck closes games decisively on Turn 5 by assembling infinite damage loops, most notably Murderous Redcap paired with Thran Vigil or Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. While the deck features strong redundancy and explosive recursion, its heavy reliance on the graveyard and multi-permanent board states leaves it vulnerable to targeted exile effects, rest-in-peace style hate, and fast combo interruption.
