Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Pippin, Warden of Isengard and Merry, Warden of Isengard as partner commanders to establish an aggressive, low-to-the-ground token engine. Pippin produces Food tokens on demand, while Merry creates 1/1 lifelink Soldiers whenever artifacts enter. The deck converts these tokens into substantial mana and card velocity through pieces like Academy Manufactor, Jaheira, Friend of the Forest, Night of the Sweets' Revenge, and Peregrin Took. It threatens victory through two primary avenues: an infinite token combo combining Rosie Cotton of South Lane with Scurry Oak or Basking Broodscale, and wide-board token attrition using Mirkwood Bats, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, or Pippin's overrun ability. Supported by premier Abzan spot removal and sweepers, the deck operates as a resilient, synergistic engine capable of creating must-answer lethal boards by Turn 5.
