Commander: The Infamous Cruelclaw

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck embraces chaos and explosive value through its commander, The Infamous Cruelclaw, a weasel mercenary that exiles cards from the top of your library on combat damage and lets you cast them by discarding a card. The primary game plan is to get Cruelclaw attacking early, often with haste, chain-cast expensive spells from exile, and convert those casts into massive life loss via damage multipliers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Wound Reflection, as well as direct damage triggers from Passionate Archaeologist and Flaming Tyrannosaurus. The deck also packs reanimation for enormous threats (Emrakul, the World Anew, Darksteel Colossus), asymmetrical board wipes, and even a few "world-ending" symmetrical effects like Bearer of the Heavens and Pox Plague to create memorable chaotic finishes. While the deck is highly explosive when things align, it is inconsistent and heavily reliant on its commander connecting, making it a true "meme" deck that can occasionally wipe out the table but often sputters.
