Deck overview

This mono-black combo reanimator deck leverages K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to turn life into mana, accelerating explosive graveyard setups and reanimation lines. The primary strategy uses Buried Alive or Entomb to place Necrotic Ooze, Asmodeus the Archfiend, and Skirge Familiar into the graveyard, followed by a cheap reanimation spell to reanimate Necrotic Ooze on Turn 4. Because Asmodeus's card-exile text is a static replacement rather than an activated ability, Necrotic Ooze gains only the activated ability to draw seven cards directly, using Skirge Familiar's discard ability to generate mana and draw the entire library in a single burst. The deck closes the game immediately on the same turn using Sickening Dreams or recursive Archon of Cruelty triggers with Chainer, Dementia Master. Highly resilient to creature removal due to redundant reanimation spells, the deck is primarily vulnerable to instant graveyard hate and stack counterspells.
