Deck overview

Mendicant Core, Guidelight is an Azorius artifact-aggro/voltron deck that fuels a wide artifact count to grow an unblockable, hexproof commander and finish with commander damage or artifact wide swings. Start your engines! is the timing engine: early combat damage raises speed to 4, then Mendicant's max-speed ability doubles every artifact spell for {1}. The deck also contains a hidden 'pauper-combo' finish in Mechanized Production, which can win the game if it ever controls eight copies of one artifact. Secondary paths include Cyberdrive Awakener/Rise and Shine to animate the artifact pile, and a modest token-plus-lords plan. The commander is central to burst copy value, but many artifacts draw cards and produce tokens so the deck can operate at moderate efficiency without it.
