Deck overview

This deck is an upkeep-focused combat synergy list commanded by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The primary strategy accelerates mana in the early turns, equips Obeka with unblockable or evasive Equipment, and attacks to deal combat damage. Each point of combat damage Obeka deals grants an additional upkeep step immediately after combat. The deck harnesses these extra upkeeps to trigger powerful enchantments, artifacts, and creatures multiple times per turn. Payoffs like Court of Ambition, Twilight Prophet, and Descent into Avernus quickly drain opponents' life totals and empty their hands, while alternate win conditions such as Darksteel Reactor and Mechanized Production rapidly accumulate counters. Strong defensive interaction, including free commander counterspells like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, protects Obeka from removal. While the deck lacks fast tutors and infinite combos, its extreme functional redundancy and card draw ensure consistent assembly and a steady Turn 7 clock.
