Deck overview

This Grixis deck is an aristocrats and token attrition engine commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The strategy focuses on accelerating into Sauron by Turn 4–5 using efficient mana rocks and utility spells. Once established, Sauron turns opposing spellcasts into an ever-growing Orc Army. By connecting in combat with the Army, Sauron repeatedly triggers the Ring tempts ability, allowing the pilot to discard their hand and draw four fresh cards each turn. This immense card velocity rapidly digs into a dense suite of sacrifice outlets (Goblin Bombardment, Warren Soultrader, Ashnod's Altar) and aristocrat drain engines (Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, The Great Goblin, The Meathook Massacre). As opponents play spells and creatures die, the deck drains the entire table in tandem with heavy combat swings, closing out the game around Turn 8 while shielding its commander behind a punishing legendary Ward cost and efficient countermagic.
