Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Big Mana Spellslinger deck centered on Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound. By casting Ashling on turn 2 and paying {U} to transform into Ashling, Rimebound on turn 3, the deck generates two mana restricted to spells with mana value 4 or greater. This restriction curves directly into a dense package of four-mana artifact ramp pieces like Thran Dynamo, Hedron Archive, and Sisay's Ring. Accelerating to seven to nine mana by turns 4 and 5 enables the deck to resolve overwhelming high-mana sorceries, spell copiers, and token generators such as Ovika, Enigma Goliath, Aminatou's Augury, One with the Multiverse, and Shark Typhoon. The game is closed through explosive turns involving cascaded and copied high-cost spells that generate massive flying token swarms or burn down opponents, supported by one-sided board wipes and mass bounce spells.
