Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Thranduil, the Elvenking leads a Sultai Elf deck built around landfall and counters. The primary plan is to make Thranduil a 21+ commander-damage threat by stacking +1/+1 counters through extra lands, while his legendary-Elf trigger draws and discards, filling the graveyard. Once key Elves are in the yard-Devoted Druid, Tromell, Lathril-Thranduil gains their activated abilities, turning the yard into a toolbox. Secondary paths are a wide/tall Elf attack with trample from Garruk's Uprising and huge standalone threats like Gigantic Big Bear, Ancient Bronze Dragon, or animated lands. The hidden commanders are the other Thranduils in the 99, Thranduil the Strategist and Thranduil, Sindarin Liege // Silvan Rally, which reinforce extra lands and tokens.
