Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius stax and control build designed to constrain opponent resources while accelerating its own development. Commanded by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, the strategy establishes asymmetric mana advantage by discounting your white and blue spells while imposing a universal tax on all opponent spells. The deck layers heavy lock pieces, including Archon of Emeria, Winter Moon, God-Pharaoh's Statue, and attack deterrents like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, grinding opposing game plans to a crawl. Card advantage engines such as Rhystic Study and Consecrated Sphinx capitalize on this slowed tempo to draw into key interaction and answers. Once the board is stabilized under taxing layers and protected by Grand Abolisher or Teferi, Time Raveler, the deck finishes the game by casting and resolving Approach of the Second Sun across two turn cycles. It provides a methodical, resilient prison strategy that punishes aggressive and greedy strategies.
