Deck overview

This Gruul deck is an all-creature aggro-punisher build designed to maximize the oppressive symmetric tax of Ruric Thar, the Unbowed and the mana-doubling power of Nikya of the Old Ways. By running exclusively creatures and lands, the deck breaks complete parity on Ruric Thar's 6-damage trigger, severely punishing opponents who rely on noncreature ramp, tutors, and board wipes. The engine accelerates rapidly using 1-drop and 2-drop mana dorks into massive mid-game beaters and draw engines like Beast Whisperer and Toski, Bearer of Secrets. The deck closes games decisively on Turn 6 by stacking damage multipliers (Xenagos, God of Revels, Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, Twinflame Tyrant) and extra combat phases (Moraug, Fury of Akoum, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Port Razer), alongside an incidental infinite combat combo with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Combat Celebrant.
