Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug engine that turns standard game actions into lethal life loss. Commanded by The Lord of Pain, the deck punishes opponents whenever they cast spells, draw extra cards, tap mana, or develop their boards, while completely shutting down opposing life gain. In the early game, you accelerate your mana curve using cheap artifacts and early damage enchantments like Descent into Avernus. Once The Lord of Pain enters the battlefield on Turn 4, it immediately threatens opponents by redirecting the mana value of the first spell cast each turn into direct damage. In the midgame, damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Twinflame Tyrant, and Fiery Emancipation amplify these triggers into overwhelming bursts. Combat manipulation through goad spells such as Disrupt Decorum and Kardur, Doomscourge forces enemies to destroy each other while protecting your life total. Finally, late-game finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Wound Reflection swiftly eliminate all remaining players.
