Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Meren of Clan Nel Toth to orchestrate an aggressive aristocrats, stax, and reanimator strategy. In the early turns, mana dorks, land-fetch creatures, and efficient rituals rapidly build mana velocity while tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive load the graveyard with high-utility creatures. Meren quickly builds experience counters by recycling self-sacrificing utility creatures such as Sakura-Tribe Elder, Spore Frog, and Plaguecrafter. Stax pieces like Collector Ouphe and Opposition Agent slow down faster combo decks, while Dictate of Erebos and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician lock creature-based boards out of the game. The deck converts this resource superiority into a game-ending win around Turn 5 by reanimating Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Walking Ballista with a sacrifice outlet for infinite damage, or by repeatedly draining the table with Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Syr Konrad, the Grim.
