Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck commands an oppressive control shell around Saruman, the White Hand, converting every noncreature spell into incremental board presence and ward-protected threat density. The deck leverages top-tier mana velocity, explosive card draw engines like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and The One Ring, and dense universal tutors to systematically assemble compact Magecraft kill lines. Its primary win condition pairs Chain of Smog with Ral, Storm Conduit or Professor Onyx, initiating an infinite self-targeting copy loop that burns or drains the entire table in a single turn. Backed by an elite suite of free and efficient countermagic—such as Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat—plus unique stack protection from Samut, Tyrant of Naktamun and Hexing Squelcher, the deck defends its combo windows flawlessly. As an alternate route, it leverages Saruman's amassed Orc armies alongside Chandra's Ignition to wipe opposing boards and deliver massive lethal damage.
