Deck overview

Kellan, the Kid leads an aggressive Bant midrange deck designed around plotting, foretelling, adventures, and casting spells from the top of the library. Whenever you cast a spell from outside your hand, Kellan allows you to cheat a permanent with equal or lesser mana value from your hand onto the battlefield for free. The early game focuses on setting up mana acceleration and staging exile spells. Once Kellan resolves, these pre-staged cards trigger explosive tempo turns, deploying high-impact engines like The One Ring, Elven Chorus, and Railway Brawler without paying mana. By turn 5, devastating cascade triggers from Apex Devastator and rapid counter accumulation create an overwhelming battlefield. Although the deck can execute an infinite creature mana loop using Food Chain and Misthollow Griffin, it primarily secures victory through wide, unblockable combat damage backed by Teferi's Protection and Cyclonic Rift.
