Deck overview

This Gruul midrange deck is built around Agatha of the Vile Cauldron, utilizing power buffs to aggressively discount the activated abilities of creatures. By boosting Agatha's power with Auras, equipment, and +1/+1 counters, the deck reduces expensive mana costs on powerful utility and token-generating creatures down to single mana pips. Payoffs such as Fire Nation Archers, Kiora of Fire and Ashes, Captivating Crew, and Svella, Ice Shaper convert modest mana pools into overwhelming board presence, repeated direct damage, or recurring card flow. Low-cost ramp accelerates early setup, while a dense suite of instant-speed protection spells defends Agatha against targeted disruption. When denied its commander, the deck transitions into a traditional Gruul stompy plan using high-stat threats like Hulk, Gamma Goliath and Vorinclex // The Grand Evolution to close games through combat.
