Deck overview

This mono-black commander deck helmed by Starscream, Power Hungry // Starscream, Seeker Leader uses the monarch mechanic and life-drain synergies to grind value and assemble the classic Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond combo. The commander offers incidental life loss when drawing cards as the monarch and can transform into a hasty, evasive vehicle for combat damage triggers. The deck leans on repeatable draw engines like Phyrexian Arena and Black Market Connections, sacrifice-based card draw, and a handful of tutors to find its win conditions. Secondary wins come through incremental drain from Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, and Bastion of Remembrance while maintaining monarch. The strategy is linear but consistent: control the board, become the monarch, drain opponents, and eventually land the two-life-link enchantments for an instant kill.
