Deck overview

Doran, Besieged by Time leads an Abzan toughness-matters deck that turns high-toughness creatures into combat damage and discounts their spells. The primary plan is to deploy a toughness engine such as Felothar the Steadfast or Assault Formation, then attack with oversized blockers and drain via Jaws of Defeat. Secondary paths include reanimation loops with Debtors' Knell, Nethroi, and Perennation, plus a small life-total package with Tree of Redemption and Tree of Perdition. The commander's discount and pump ability make him a force multiplier, but the deck can still function through enchantment-based toughness effects if he is removed.
