Deck overview

This Atraxa deck executes a controlling tap-and-freeze strategy. It uses stax pieces like Blind Obedience, Thalia, Heretic Cathar, and Archon of Emeria to slow down opposing mana development and force newly cast creatures to enter the battlefield tapped. Once opposing threats are tapped, the deck locks them down with stun counters via spells like Freeze in Place, Lost in the Maze, and Fear of Sleep Paralysis. Atraxa, Praetors' Voice proliferates these stun counters on every end step, ensuring opposing commanders and attackers never untap. Meanwhile, engines like Generous Patron and Verity Circle convert tapped opposing permanents and distributed counters into massive card advantage. The deck seals victory through unblockable combat damage with an evasive, vigilance-backed commander and recurring life drain from Mjölnir, Storm Hammer.
