New Untitled Deck by kcampbell268

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Hakbal is a Simic Merfolk value engine. The primary plan is to play Hakbal on curve, trigger mass explore at combat to grow +1/+1 counters, hit extra land drops, and refill with Merfolk draw, then turn the wide counter board into lethal with Herald of Secret Streams. Secondary paths are a hexproof token swarm from Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage and the alternate Simic Ascendancy counter win. Kumena, Merrow Reejerey, and Kindred Discovery keep the engine fed. There is no hidden commander; the single-faced Hakbal is the build-around, with Growing Rites of Itlimoc as a ramp piece after it flips.
