Format: Commander

Commander: Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius turns Simic's 'cast from anywhere other than your hand' cards into a discount engine. The deck loads the graveyard and exile with flashback, foretell, plot, and retrace spells, then uses Doc's {2} reduction to cheat on mana. Quiet Speculation, Frantic Search, Grolnok, and Six do the loading; Fblthp keeps a stream of plotted spells coming. Lier, Disciple of the Drowned is effectively a hidden commander, granting flashback to every instant and sorcery and enabling the extra-turn route with Alrund's Epiphany. The primary win is a flashbacked Increasing Savagery turning Doc into a 12/13 commander-damage clock; the backup is building an evasive board and buying one extra turn. Sequencing and graveyard protection matter more than explosive combos.
