Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Landfall and Mass Land Destruction strategy led by Toph, Hardheaded Teacher. Toph turns every spell cast into an earthbend trigger, animating lands into 1/1 creatures with haste and built-in recursion that returns them to the battlefield tapped whenever they die or are exiled. The primary game plan leverages aggressive 1- and 2-mana ramp to establish Toph by Turn 3, followed by an asymmetric mass land destruction spell—such as Thoughts of Ruin, Boom // Bust, or Obliterate—on Turn 5. Because earthbent lands return to play immediately and payoffs like Titania, Protector of Argoth generate 5/3 Elementals upon land sacrifice, the pilot completely breaks parity while stripping opponents of all mana resources. The surviving army of animated lands, Elementals, and pumped creatures closes the game over two combat rotations by Turn 7. Secondary lines utilize Scute Swarm, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, and Splendid Reclamation to overwhelm tables through combat power.
