Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is led by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, transforming symmetrical and passive group-slug effects into a massive personal card-advantage engine. By establishing cheap, recurring life-loss triggers early in the game, the deck ensures Valgavoth triggers on every opponent's turn, rapidly drawing cards and growing its power. It amplifies noncombat damage across the table using cards like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, draining opponents' life totals while threatening lethal flying commander damage. The list also runs heavy proactive tax pieces such as Painful Quandary, Stranglehold, and Roiling Vortex to prevent opponents from stabilizing or gaining life. A compact infinite damage combo between Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin and All Will Be One provides a decisive instant-win route if the game stalls.
