Azula's ascension B3 by user7924388

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula is a Grixis spellslinger/storm deck. It wins by attacking with Azula, then using the Firebending red mana and the copied-spell trigger to chain rituals and cantrips into Thousand-Year Storm, Storm-Kiln Artist, and a storm finisher such as Grapeshot, Brain Freeze, or a huge Comet Storm. Kess, Dissident Mage, Mizzix's Mastery, and Underworld Breach act as a hidden second engine, allowing the same chain to be replayed from the graveyard. Secondary wins include Hullbreaker Horror/Sol Ring loops and Guttersnipe attrition. The deck functions without the commander, but Azula is the fastest way to double every spell and generate combat mana, so it usually holds cards for one explosive turn rather than playing a long tempo game.
