Deck overview

This Volo deck is a Simic token-copy combo deck. Volo, Guide to Monsters generates extra ETB value by copying creatures with unique types, but the real engine is the hidden commander Esix, Fractal Bloom. The primary plan is to ramp into Biovisionary and one of several copy/token-switch effects-Esix, Rite of Replication, Second Harvest, or Replication Technique-to create four Biovisionaries and win on the end step. A secondary combat plan uses End-Raze Forerunners and Return of the Wildspeaker to turn copied token hordes into lethal damage. The deck needs specific pieces and has moderate resilience, but its redundant copy effects and heavy ramp make the finish achievable.
